Amid heightened tensions along the India-Pakistan border, the Ministry of Home Affairs has issued fresh orders for large-scale mock drills in five border states—Punjab, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Jammu & Kashmir, and Haryana. Scheduled for tomorrow evening between 5:00 PM and 8:00 PM, these drills are part of a routine preparedness measure to ensure civilian safety in the event of ceasefire violations or cross-border escalations.

According to officials, the exercise is not an indication of any immediate offensive action but rather a precautionary routine aimed at strengthening emergency response mechanisms. Participants will be trained in responding to potential drone or missile attacks, including siren alerts, blackout protocols, and evacuation drills.

This latest drill comes against the backdrop of ongoing military posture under “Operation Sindoor,” India’s covert and overt campaign against cross-border terrorism emanating from Pakistan.
