Delhi Liquor Scam: Arvind Kejriwal’s Day of Turmoil: Judicial Custody and Office Eviction

Delhi’s Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is experiencing a string of unfortunate events today, with bad news coming in rapid succession. First, a shock from the court concerning Manish Sisodia’s case resulted in everyone’s judicial custody being extended. The latest blow came when it was revealed that his “lucky” office, the Aam Aadmi Party’s headquarters next to Rouse Avenue Court, must be vacated. Kejriwal has been moved to a new location, and only time will tell if this change will prove lucky or unlucky.

Adding to his woes, Kejriwal is already facing pushbacks from various quarters. Now, even members of the Indi Alliance have shown him the door. Despite approaching them with proposals daily, he is met with constant refusals. They have made it clear that they have no sympathy for him and that he should not try to mix his personal issues with the alliance’s agenda.

Judicial Custody Extended

Special Judge Kaveri Baweja extended Kejriwal’s custody in a money laundering case, being probed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED), till July 31, while his judicial custody in a corruption case, lodged by the CBI, was extended till August 8.

The judge also extended the judicial custody of Aam Aadmi Party leader and former Delhi deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia, Bharat Rashtra Samithi leader K Kavitha, and other accused till July 31 in the money laundering case. The accused were produced before the court through video conference. The Supreme Court had earlier granted interim bail to Kejriwal in the ED case; however, he continues to be lodged in Tihar jail as he has not furnished the bail bond in the case.

He is in judicial custody in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) case.

The Office Eviction

Another major setback came when the Supreme Court ordered the eviction of the Aam Aadmi Party’s headquarters, which was built on land allotted for the Delhi High Court. The Central Government has assigned a new office to the AAP at Bungalow Number One, Ravi Shankar Shukla Lane, New Delhi. The Supreme Court had previously reprimanded Kejriwal for occupying land meant for the High Court and ordered the eviction by June 15. Despite the deadline, the eviction was delayed, and now the new office has been allotted as per the court’s directive.

IND Alliance’s Cold Shoulder

Kejriwal is also facing rejection from the Indi Alliance members. Despite his daily attempts to seek their support, they have shown no interest. During a recent alliance meeting, it was made clear that their focus is on preparing a strategy for the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, not on Kejriwal’s issues. This contradiction is evident as Kejriwal holds press conferences outside, declaring that the alliance is over and that he will contest elections alone in Delhi, Haryana, and Punjab. Yet, he continues to approach the alliance members daily, seeking their support.

Press Conference Drama

In a press conference, Kejriwal stated that the alliance is over, and he will contest elections alone in Delhi, Haryana, and Punjab. Despite this, he continues to approach the alliance members daily, seeking their support. The alliance members have expressed frustration, stating that Kejriwal should not mix his personal issues with the alliance’s agenda. This contradiction has not gone unnoticed and has led to growing frustration among the alliance members.

Congress Party’s Blow

The Congress Party has also dealt a blow to Kejriwal, adding to his troubles. During a recent budget session, Raghav Chadda and Sanjay Singh from the AAP claimed a conspiracy to kill Kejriwal. However, their concerns were dismissed by the alliance members, who stated that the meeting was not for discussing Kejriwal’s issues.

Conclusion

In conclusion, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is facing a series of setbacks. His judicial custody has been extended in two separate cases, his lucky office has been evicted, and the Congress Party has dealt a blow to his alliance with the Indi members. Despite his efforts to seek support from the alliance members, they have made it clear that they have no sympathy for him. As Kejriwal continues to face these challenges, it remains to be seen how he will navigate through these turbulent times.
