Delhi High Court Exposes Alarming Dairy Practices in the Capital

The eyes of the entire nation are eagerly awaiting the Supreme Court’s decision on whether Arvind Kejriwal, currently lodged in Tihar jail, will be granted exemption for his election campaign. However, amidst this anticipation, a shocking incident has come to light in the Delhi High Court. The court has revealed allegations that Arvind Kejriwal and his government are distributing poisoned milk to the people of Delhi. We will cover details of this case and bring  light on the concerning state of dairy practices in the capital.

Delhi High Court’s Anger:

During the hearing, the Chief Justice of India, Justice Manmohan, expressed his anger and disbelief at the functioning of dairies in Delhi. He accused the government of turning a blind eye to the issues surrounding the dairy industry, stating that it seemed as though no one feared the law. The court raised questions about the legality of dairy farms and the potential health risks associated with consuming their products.

The Ghazipur Garbage Mountain:

The court also highlighted the failure of the government to address the issue of the Ghazipur garbage mountain. Arvind Kejriwal had promised to eliminate this mountain of waste before the MCD elections, but it still remains a prominent problem. The court said it would not tolerate cattle consuming hazardous waste near the landfill sites, which eventually leads to the production of toxic milk that gets consumed by people. The judges felt that there was an urgent need to relocate the Ghazipur and Bhalswa dairies —that are situated next to two enormous landfill sites — saying that the cattle at these dairies will invariably feed on hazardous waste. The court emphasized the seriousness of the situation, especially considering the recent fire that broke out in the garbage mountain. The irony of the situation was not lost on the court, as the government responsible for addressing the issue is currently facing legal troubles.

Illegal Dairies and Adulteration:

The court further expressed concern about the presence of illegal dairies in Delhi and the potential health hazards associated with their operations. It questioned the licensing process and the lack of regulations governing these dairies. The court also highlighted the issue of adulteration, particularly the injection of oxytocin hormone into cows and buffaloes to increase milk production. This adulteration poses a significant risk to public health, and the court called for action to be taken against those responsible.

Delhi Police’s Role:

The court reprimanded the Delhi Police for their handling of the situation. It demanded that the police provide details of their efforts to trace the source of the oxytocin poisoning and take the matter seriously. The court even suggested involving the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) if necessary.

The revelations made in the Delhi High Court regarding the distribution of poisoned milk and the state of dairy practices in Delhi are deeply concerning. The court’s scathing remarks highlight the government’s failure to address these issues and protect the health of its citizens. It is crucial for authorities to take immediate action to rectify the situation and ensure the safety of the public. The focus should be on implementing stricter regulations, cracking down on illegal dairies, and punishing those responsible for adulteration. The Court asked Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar to personally visit the city’s dairy colonies and prepare a roadmap on how government will ensure they comply with the laws. Only then can the people of Delhi be assured of the safety and quality of the milk they consume.
