Constitutional Values and the Idea of India: A Reflection (Speech of Mr. Rahul Gandhi at Loksabha)

This fiery discourse by Rahul Gandhi in the hallowed halls of the Loksabha was not just another political speech. The impact it provoked is still reverberating through the country, drawing intense criticism and applause in equal measure. His speech has been decoded as he speaks on systematic assault on the Constitution.

The Systematic Assault on the Constitution

Over the last ten years, there has been a systematic, full-scale assault on the idea of India, the Constitution, and millions of people who resist the ideas proposed by the BJP. I have personally faced attacks; some of our leaders are still in jail. This aggression isn’t limited to the opposition but extends to anyone who resists the concentration of power, wealth, and aggression on Dalit, minority, and tribal communities. People are violently crushed, jailed, and oppressed.

Facing the Consequences

I have faced over 20 cases, four jail sentences, and my house was taken away. No problem. There have been relentless media attacks and abuse, and I went through 55 hours of interrogation by the ED. The officer asked me why I was not moving like a stone during the interrogation. When such attacks happen, you need ideas and places to defend yourself.

Defending the Idea of India

Today, I want to share with my friends in the BJP and RSS the idea we use to defend the idea of India. The first idea is represented in the image of Shivji, which symbolizes fearlessness. Shivji places a snake near his neck, symbolizing the idea of not being scared of anything.

The Symbol of Non-Violence

Behind Shivji’s left shoulder is the Trishul, a symbol of non-violence. It is placed where Shiva cannot reach it with his right hand, indicating it’s not a weapon of violence but a symbol of non-violence. The BJP claims to defend the truth without violence.

The Abhay Mudra: Symbol of Fearlessness

The Abhay Mudra symbolizes the projection of fearlessness and non-violence to the rest of the world. It represents what Mahatma Gandhi stood for: truth and non-violence. It is crucial not only to be fearless and non-violent but also to help others become fearless and innocent.

Religious Teachings on Courage

Many religions talk about courage. In Islam, the Quran states, “Have no fear, I am with you, hearing and seeing.” The Abhay Mudra is also visible in the right hand during prayer. Guru Nanak Ji’s teachings also emphasize non-violence and fearlessness. Jesus Christ’s teachings reflect the same principles, as does Mahavira’s.

The Foundation of India’s History

India’s foundation is based on non-violence and fearlessness. Modi ji once said that India did not attack anyone because it is a country of non-violence. However, the BJP spreads violence, hatred, and falsehood, which contradicts the teachings of Hinduism and other religions that advocate standing with the truth and non-violence.

Spreading Fear and Violence

The BJP spreads fear and violence, from Ayodhya to other parts of India. In Ayodhya, people’s lands were taken, and their homes were demolished without proper compensation. The people of Ayodhya felt excluded during the inauguration of the Ram temple, which was attended by Adani and Ambani but not by the locals.

The Fear Among the People

During the Bharat Jodo Yatra, we heard many stories about the fear spread by the BJP. A woman shared how she was beaten by her husband due to inflation. Agniveers, who serve in the army, do not receive the same benefits as regular soldiers and are treated unfairly.

The Impact of Demonetization and GST

Demonetization and GST destroyed small and medium businesses, which are the backbone of India’s employment. These policies were implemented to benefit billionaires by clearing the way for them. The Income Tax Department harasses small businesses, restricting their cash flow, while billionaires thrive.

The Land Acquisition Bill and Farmers’ Protests

The Land Acquisition Bill, which aimed to provide fair compensation to farmers, was abolished by the BJP. The BJP brought three new laws to scare farmers, which led to massive protests. Farmers were labeled as terrorists, and 700 farmers were martyred during the protests.

The NEET Exam Controversy

The NEET exam has become a commercial exam designed for rich students. It has been centralized in Kota, creating a lucrative business at the expense of deserving students. The exam is not designed to help meritorious students but to create opportunities for the wealthy.

The Fear Within the BJP

There is fear within the BJP itself. Members are scared to speak out against the leadership. In a democracy, there should be room for different opinions, but the BJP creates fear even within its ranks.

In conclusion, the principles of truth, courage, and non-violence should guide us. The BJP government should not spread fear but listen to the people, including farmers, students, and the opposition. We must work together to take the country forward with bravery, without violence, and with respect for the truth.
