Breaking News: Terror Attack in Jammu and Kashmir

Reports are pouring in from Jammu and Kashmir, indicating yet another terror attack in the region. This marks the second such incident in Jammu within the past three days, raising concerns about the security situation. The recent attack in Kathua, following the earlier one in Reasi, underscores the heightened threat facing the Jammu region.

Previous Attack:

In the preceding assault, terrorists targeted a bus transporting pilgrims from Uttar Pradesh in Jammu and Kashmir’s Reasi district. The bus was returning from Shiv Khori temple in Reasi to Katra when the terrorists opened fire on it. The assailants opened fire on the bus, causing it to plunge into a gorge. Tragically, nine individuals lost their lives, while 33 others sustained injuries in the attack.

Security Forces in Action:

The latest terror incident reportedly involved gunfire in the Hiranagar sector of Kathua district. Initial reports suggested that three terrorists fired upon a vehicle in Hiranagar. Promptly, security forces mobilized to the area and launched an extensive search operation. While one terrorist has been neutralized, intelligence suggests that two more remain concealed in the nearby forest. Reinforcements are being deployed to bolster the ongoing efforts.

Security Forces’ Response

In the latest incident, there was reportedly some firing heard in the Hira Nagar sector of Katwa district. Upon further investigation, it was revealed that three terrorists had fired at a vehicle in Hira Nagar. Security forces quickly responded, conducting an intense search operation. They successfully neutralized one terrorist, but according to sources within the security establishment, two more terrorists are hiding in the forest area. indications suggest the involvement of Pakistani militants who may have infiltrated from the international border.

Additional troops, including reinforcements from the Jammu and Kashmir police and paramilitary forces, are being sent to the area. The Special Operations Group is leading this operation, which is still ongoing.

Government Response

Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh has affirmed his active monitoring of the situation, emphasizing the joint effort between local law enforcement and Central Armed Police Forces. The paramilitary’s integral role in these operations has been highlighted by Dr. Singh. As investigations progress, authorities are keen to ascertain whether the neutralized terrorist is of Pakistani origin or a local insurgent.
