An emergency evacuation occurred at Delhi’s IGI International Airport Terminal 2. Indigo Flight 6221, which was scheduled to fly from Delhi to Varanasi. Indigo Flight 6221’s crew announced an emergency evacuation at 5:10 a.m., shortly before takeoff. Passengers were urged to promptly exit the plane. The initial information presented was that there was a technical problem, however it was later discovered that there was no bomb danger. The evacuation was chaotic, with young children and women among the passengers trying to figure out what had happened.

CISF and fire brigade units responded to the evacuation at Delhi Airport. The entire area around the jet was roped off, and passengers were instructed to remain on buses. Each passenger’s luggage was checked, and a clearance process was began. The runway was also inspected, and CISF men protected the entire region. The inquiry is currently underway, and no information has been released about the source of the threat.
